I just love Sunday mornings.
The quiet, the peacefulness.
Well, except for that one snow blower across the street.
I also love waking up early, but staying in bed for another two hours just because I can.
Since waking, I’ve been leisurely enjoying my coffee at my kitchen table and trying very hard to not think about tomorrow.
The last two weeks ushered in both the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, which meant three day weekends.
Tomorrow, reality returns.
- The five day workweek returns. Five days of nuclear-level stress, as if four wasn’t enough.
- The regular, and heavy, tide of traffic returns. No more easy commute to and from work.
- The resolution makers at the gyms make their annual pilgrimage back to good intentions, which means the gyms will be CHAOS.
I know tomorrow is going to be at bit nuts at work, so I was planning to go in for an hour today, but I’ve decided against it. I’m going in an hour early tomorrow. Today is mine, all mine.
This afternoon, I’m going to start work on the next cosplay. I bought the pattern for the clothing, but I need to lay it out and cut it up. The jacket will be composed of multiple pieces, sort of like a patchwork quilt. I’ve never made anything like this before and I’m feeling a bit like Dr. Frankenstein. Or would be it be Fronkensteen? Once I’m happy with the results, I’ll look for fabric and start sewing.
Comic Con isn’t for another four months, but I like to get a jump on cosplay creation. Should for some reason this not work, I need to come up with a backup plan. No details now, but I promise pictures when I’m done.
This evening, I’ll be parked on the couch as my team, the Green Bay Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau. Go Pack Go!
But first I have to pull myself away from the table - and away from my coffee. In other words, I plan on being here awhile.
Until next time.
